35. The Cave-In
Case file:
#98-33934-R
Thomas George Rule: Sabotage - Murder.
Original air date: 16 October 1966
Rerun 7 May 1967
FBI Agent Jim Rhodes is entombed in a mine cave-in along with the suspect wanted for sabotage.
- Here, we have father and son appearing together in an episode of The FBI. John McIntire (1907-91) and his son Tim (1944-86) had roles in this episode. And the older McIntire’s wife, Jeanette Nolan (1911-98), even appeared on The FBI in 1971’s “The Last Job.” Amazing!
- Black 1966 Mercury Breezeway used as sheriff's car. Also used in the "Assassin" No sighting of the 1957 Ranchero.
- 1963 Ford Ambulance (blue/white) in scene at the end of episode. This was probably a conversion by the Shop of Seibert of Ohio.
- Canadian actor John McLiam would go on to play Herbert Clutter, the doomed family patriarch, in the film adaptation of the Truman Capote-penned nove, In Cold Blood, in 1967. And the ever-lovely Judee Morton makes an appearance here.
